Greetings from New York City! Today is the first day of the National Art Education Association Annual Conference. Lucky for me, this year it's in the glorious city of Manhattan... my old stomping grounds! I took the bus down 5th Avenue to 51st Street. The conference is being held at the Hilton Hotel on 6th Avenue, right in between 52nd and 53rd Streets. After picking up my registration tag, I perused the conference schedule and made a plan for the day. There were so many workshops and discussions to choose from! The highlights of my day were hearing the artist Jean Shin speak and going to the Museum of Modern Art.

I checked in and picked up my name badge. |
With so many workshops, I made my plan for the day. |
Jean Shin spoke about her work as an installation artist. She is a fellow alumna from Pratt Institute (I didn't know that!) And, I also wasn't aware that she recently started teaching there as well. |
My mom happened to be in the city today as well, so we met up for a quick lunch!
Bon Apetit!
